On 29 August 2015, the German political magazine Der Spiegel used two front covers (on alternate pages). One cover had the heading ‘Dark Germany’ (‘Dunkles Deutschland’), and the other said ‘Bright Germany’ (‘Helles Deutschland’). Both used the sub heading: ‘It is up to us how we will live. A manifesto.’ (see: https://www.spiegel.de/spiegel/print/d-138379331.html). A manifesto is a declaration of aims, intentions or plans for the future.
